"V" code springs

I am in the process of getting V code springs. My Question is, Is there any thing else needed to be done after replacing the stock ones? Will the shocks fit considering the extra lift ? Will I need a front end alignment? I measured the rear (42 7/16) and the front (40 1/4) to the top of the wheelwell molding, so I shouldn't have to adjust the rear! I should gain 1.77 inches off the V code springs(with the much needed spring travel). One last question, Do the newer X's have a better bump stop than the 2000 one?

"V" code springs

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 18-Nov-02 AT 12:19 PM (EST)]I just had U-codes installed(V-10 Excursion) and gained just under 1.5 inches with stock bump stops. Have Edelbrock shocks with 40k miles on them and they work fine. The guy who installed the springs did an alignment and checked the ball joints which were fine(50K miles) The truck is level, and loaded up with gas and family slightly higher in the front. I think if you add V-codes you may need to raise rear a little. Would suggest U-codes. Can't see any advantage to changing bump stops, you won't hit them in normal driving. I'm not sure about you're measurements. Are they at the top of the moldings on a Limited?

I am getting a good deal for the V's. Yes the measurement's are from the molding on the limited. The back is easy to raise a inch and cheaper.

You could remove the rear block drill a hole in a hockey puck (Hockey Puck is about an inch tall) use it as a spacer. Or buy a bigger block. Someone in this group added a larger block and has pitures...Not sure who....

I have some rubber spacers from Timbren with a hole in them already. The hole has a metal sleeve. Have 1/2 and 1 inch they sent me to use the Timbrens up front with the new U-codes. Hmmm.

I was thinking of getting a pair of 3" blocks to replace the 2" ones. I will probaly have to get new U bolts at the same time but I will wait to see the height difference first!
