Hello once again,
Call me whatever you want and it’s probably true but my brakes are all sorts of wack after replacing the booster.
Before the booster failed my brakes were inconsistent and would loose pressure while in use, then out of nowhere my pedal got super stiff and all around terrible.
Pulled the vacuum line and drove around to determine it was in fact the booster. After replacing the unit my first adjustment was way too far out and my pedal was still super stiff but I had brakes.
I got tired of putting the force of god into my leg so I went to adjust it today and I got the rod to the ballpark level that the old rod was at. At first it was no different so I sent it in more in small increments of 1-2 rotations per check. Now it’s sitting maybe an inch out from the booster but my brakes are still wack. Stopping from slow speeds is super stiff and from high speeds it’s super spongy until the very end of the pedal. Figured the booster would be straightforward but I guess not. Any adjustment recommendations or measurements on the pushrod would help greatly
Thanks for all that. Got my brakes adjusted and for the most part I’m happy, I noticed that on slow speeds the pedal is still stiff. Is that just how it is, is there an adjustment for the master cyl, or is there a “break in” period for the booster. Not too familiar with brake systems
