Code po182

My 06 Escape XLT 3.0 is giving a code po182(fuel temp circuit low). Anyone know anything about this code. I was getting a po193(fuel rail pressure too high) and I changed that sensor and now I’m getting the po182. I did have a miss just before the engine light came on for the po182.

It's the same sensor for both fault codes.

Thanks for the reply. It’s almost impossible to find good quality parts anymore.

I bought the temp/pressure sensor that goes on the end of the fuel rail. A couple drives later it did it again so when I looked at the sensor that I had bought it was bad(leaking fuel from back vacuum line). I got another one and it fixed it for a while then I started getting the same code again. While looking into the fuel system to see what I could find I noticed the fuel pump didn’t seem to sound right. So ultimately I had to put a fuel pump in to fix my problem.

Are you saying that the P0182 code was caused by a faulty fuel pump? Did you change the sensor?

Maybe I wasn’t very clear so let me see if I can clear it up. I purchased a new sensor installed it and it was worse than the one I removed. I made them exchange it for another one and it worked. After about a month or so driving it I got the code again. That’s when I discovered the fuel pump not working properly. I replaced the fuel pump and cleared the code again and been driving it ever since with no issues. Hopefully yours will turn out to be just the sensor. Hope this clears it up.

Like you I replaced the sensor to correct a P0193 fuel rail pressure code with a Motorcraft labored part. Shortly there after got the P0182 code. Sensor on fuel rail does both pressure and temperature. Like you will replace the sensor again and hope for the best. Seems like a lot of "new" parts are defective!!

How did you determine that the problem was fuel pump related? Tom

Lots of parts especially electrical parts seem to be junk right out of the box.

I heard the difference when I turned the key on. Instead of the quick shot of fuel to build up pressure to start it was a low hum that lasted twice as long as it should.

While I don't look forward to replacing the fuel rail sensor again, I hope the problem is a crappy part. I bought the "motorcraft" part on eBay that appeared to be genuine Ford part.

Probably will break down and buy the part from the dealer.

Just curious--was the part that failed you was OEM or aftermarket. If so which brand. Thanks
