Been looking for a Motorcraft can't find any in stock . RA Offers 1 for $530 shipped, but do they have it? This truck has been down a month and I need to get it going.
Is the Motorcraft route desirable or is there another option, like what the auto stores offer(in stock), or what? Not looking forward to the job(1st time), but need to make sure parts can be had this year to get it done.

Try these guys. I've ordered from them before. Learned about them from here. But I'd call to see if it's in stock first.
As to sticking with OEM, I've heard through my own research that this pump is a good design.
With that said, you could also eliminate it with an after market pump system like an Air Dog or Fass, but that's up to you. Some guys replace the DFCM (diesel fuel conditioning module aka the primary pump we're talking about here) with an aftermarket pump or just run the DFCM.
Copy what Overkill said. The pump is not in tank on 2012, if thats the one you are referring to, its in the housing in front of the tank with the water separation filter. You can swap that out with an aftermarket pump with filter. You will gain more flow/volume too and maybe even a better performing filter than stock.

Funny but I just assumed he was talking about 11 to 16 truck.
Plenty in stock at White Bear Lake Ford. I personally contacted them for availability. Mine has been making some strange noises lately so I need to have on hand in case it craps out.
I'm not here to tell you what to get or where to get it. I'm here to address you saying you are not looking forward to the job. I did it twice in two days (long story, turns out I really didn't need to replace the pump anyway). Also first time. I think the first time it took maybe 45 minutes. Taking my time and figuring things out. Second time 20 minutes tops. Real easy. If I recall correctly its 4 fuel lines with clips, no tools needed. Then 4 bolts holding the bracket to the frame. Then 2 smaller bolts holding the pump to the bracket. I don't know if you can do it without removing the bracket but it makes thigs a whole lot easier to see. It definitely took more time to clean up after the job.

I welcome this advise also. Though I did find a pretty good YT of it. The electrical plugs and the different clip methods is a worry. The rest, as you say, Real easy (or so it seems).
Thanks all. Gotta pump coming. Pump changing advice appreciated on this part.

Okay, I'll link to Air Dog's instruction manual for their aftermarket pump for the 11 to 16 6.7s, with the DFCM, because it has a page with great instructions on how to disconnect the factory fuel line fittings on the DFCM...
I finally got my pimp from RA and it's broken. Part of the flange just above the "fuel bowl" cracked off and is leaking ...something. This sucks. I hope RA is gonna be cool with this and more importantly, I need another one ASAP. I'm driving my '65 as a DD after literally sitting in the weeds for 3 years. Good battery and gas and she fired right up. Amazing. After parking at work, there were a ton of coworkers crawling out from wherever wanting to know who the truck belonged to. Cool, but I want my King Ranch back.
