Let me be the one to chime in for you. I bought a 2001 Expedition w/o a towing pkg. I bought my class III hitch at U-haul, installed for $150.00. I would have installed it myself, as it is easy to do, but I was down in Florida at the time and they were only charging me $10 to install it, so what the heck.
I also added a Hayden transmission cooler myself. Not too difficult to do, there is plenty of room in front of the radiator to add it.
And, since I am not too happy w/the 3.31 gears that came in my truck, I order 4.10 gears and a limited slip from Reider Racing, that I will have someone else install.
And last, I am going to upgrade from P255/70-16 tires to a LT265/75-16 tire.
