It really provides a good light. I actually put in a warm light LED bulb to conserve the classic yellow light color.
Well in its OEM bulb state it does not really provide good light....IMO. I like your warm LED mod. I spent most of my younger years flying in helicopters at night (we called it nighthawking) and or we wore NVG's (night vision goggles).
So I like a 99.9999% blacked out cockpit/cabin. That helps you see OUTSIDE the aircraft, that also holds true for a truck cab. Try turning down your dash lights down as low as you feel comfortable doing and see if it helps your outside the truck vision/night vision. Newer vehicles are WAY worse with all them interior lights. Just like when your passenger turns on their phone in the cab at night, BAM glass reflection blindness.
