what is the biggest tires i can get on stock 4x4 rims. what is the best all around all terrain tire that is out there? i was thinking of bfgoodrich all terrain tires and the biggest tires i've seen on my rims is 285/75/r16. can i go bigger?
First thing I did when I took my X home was to put on BFG all-terrain LT295 75R16's. Had to fine tune the bump stops to keep them from rubbing on leaf spring at full turn. Pretty good tire. looked pretty funny after I lifted it, so I sold 'em.

2kXV10 lmt on Weld 16x10 'phoons w/35 x 12.5 AT's. Fabtech/Liftmaster 6" lift and 6x Rancho 9000's, Superchips 1715 tuner, K&N intake, AirRaid throttle body spacer, cat back 3" sst exhaust into FM70 big block, 2.5" dual out.
Not 100% sure about the suspension diff's between the XC and
the SD F250, but my new BFG AT 295/75/16's fit fine on the stock
rims w/o rubbing. Check my gallery for pix.
>What do you mean? What is fine tuning a bump stop?
Sorry Monsta for not getting back. Busy, busy.
Anyway, you know they are just cast in the assembly, right? Well I basically just added a homemade cup, or a big thimble that I swaged on the "finger" that bumps into the stop cast on the knuckle. That stopped the swing about .25" shorter to prevent the edge of those BFG's from rubbing at full crank. Of course, instead of a 50' turning radius, I had about a 60 footer :P
