I’ve been toying with the idea of looking around for a 1958 to 1960 F 100. Before I do that, I am wondering if a guy like me will comfortably fit, assuming a truck has factory seats. I am 6 foot two and 250 pounds. I have a number of other classic cars, and I’ve had to typically put on seat, track extenders to give me more legroom, especially with a manual transmission. I’m assuming that I couldn’t push the seat any further back in one of these vehicles, so I am interested if any larger size guys have one and what their experience might be. Thanks in advance.
If you really like the 1958 to 1960 F 100, which I do, then look into finding a seat with a lower profile. I don't know if the floor can be modified to give more head room.
Removing the fuel tank won't give an iota of additional leg room. With the seat all the way back, it's touching the back of the cab, not the fuel tank.
People have gone thru the trouble of removing the tank, only to discover there was no additional leg room.
I'm 6'3" and don't feel uncomfortable driving mine. Just got the seat recovered, which is a big improvement. It's obviously not as comfortable to drive as a newer vehicle, but for how I use it, it's perfectly fine.
Miss ya on the 48 to 56 site NumberDummy. A fella couldn't convince ya to drop in could he?
I'm 6'2" 240 lbs and I fit. Not like I do in my 2015 Supercab but I fit. Leg room there's not much you can do but you can swap out the straight column to a tilt. Just a FYI that involves new steering gear and could be a hassle if you have a 3 on the tree.

I am about 6'1" and weigh 185. I have a tilt steering wheel. No gas tank and the seats are all the way back. Not bad driving short distances but would not want to go for a distance.
I'm 5'10' 150 lbs. Mine has tilt and a TMI bench with backrests that recline. Honestly it's okay for short runs, and it's tolerable for 100+ mile trips, but the word comfortable isn't exactly what comes to mind. I tolerate it because I like the truck, but these cabs are cramped. I have boosted brakes and cutting a pie slice out of the brake pedal, bending it and re-welding it so it's closer to the level of the accelerator made a substantial difference too.
