Another intrior door handle (driver's side of course) broke; it's diecast, so no surprise there. Is there a steel version available? I checked RiffRaff, was hoping for a billet option. I'm sure Clay would want a chuck of change for it. But it would be a done deal.
Expensive, but you asked. https://cpaddict.com/billet-inner-do...series-bronco/ I have used their door repair kits to fix the torn metal holding the door handle that causes it to flex and break the handle. Those are a fantastic solution to that mess also.
You may need the CP Addict reinforcement plates if handles break. I put them on all my 87-97 trucks and delrin window regulator bushings where applicable.
PS, I was the one that sent them a stern email regarding not including a drill bit for the plate (nor telling you the size!) nor telling you the rivet size. Shockingly now it is on their site.

Nope, my doors are sound. I guess when I'm in a hurry, I don't baby it. I just need a handle that's manned up. I just might diy my own?
Ahh i didn't notice you said steel. When 6061 aircraft aluminum is not enough and you want your door handle to be the only thing left after tomahawk strike.
Check your hinges. I tried replacing the door pins and bushings and they failed again within a year. Bought new hinges, painted them and installed and I can open and close my doors with ease. That fix from CP addict is nice but its a bandaid on what could be an underlying problem.

How is it a bandaid if the metal is torn? I would call that a fix.
On my 1996 F250, the metal on the driver's door panel also broke. I found a couple pieces of metal, used the safety clip and then put new blue loctite on the bolt that secures the bolt mechanism to the safety clip. However I must have over torqued my window crank screw, since the head of the screw broke off. I also put some blue loctite on the bolt that attaches my passenger side interior door handle, even though the door metal hasn't broken on that side yet.
Piece of metal I attached safety clip to. The bolt threads were able to go through not just the safety clip, but either hole in the metal itself. Orientation of metal that was installed under interior door handle mechanism itself, with safety clip and then washer on top. The T20 screw I somehow overtightened without meaning to, the screw head broke off.
