Lawnmower spindles.....
If that's the case, why are there zerk fittings? I pressed the old spindle apart and cleaned it up to make sure I was seeing it correctly.
Does this bearing need grease or not? I hate to think of how much Lucas red I've wasted over 10 years.........
I googled the bearing numbers and from what I'm seeing, it is a sealed bearing if it has the RS suffix.
Am I missing something here? Other than a case of grease?
Unfortunately, you had to pull the deck, and grease from the bottom.
Somewhere around 2000 they stopped putting fittings on
I try to grease them at least 3 times a season. they usually last me about 20 years
I asked my dealer and he told me that he has lawn service customers with machines going on 12 years old, and no issues with them.
For me?
I ended my Husqvarna's riding tractor mower's career by hitting a Tree Root at full tilt, bent the mandrel and busted the housing.
sold it for parts, and bought the Bad Boy, never looked back.
time to get it out of the Toy Hauler, drain the oil, clean the filter, and gas it up.
That's about the same time Harley started getting serious about sealed bearings too.
Up until I got my property under control, spindles didn't have much of a chance.. I usually broke the mounting ears off hitting rocks or car bumpers. I'd break them way before they had a chance to wear.

My Husqvarna is still going strong.. 10 years old now,, 300 hrs. Kohler engine. When its time for a new one the bad boy is at the top of the list. Finally talked dad into getting a Maverick last year and it's been a great machine, 60" versus 18 acres, like a big orange salad-shooter.
