1978 supercab lariat f150

I have a 1978 supercab lariat f150 with a dark blue/light blue 2 tone. Also has 49,000 original miles and I'm the second owner. I got offered 15,000 for it after I pulled it out of a tree row but I didn't take it. Now its getting restored at a shop. I was wondering how rare my truck is?

Not that rare IMO. 15K is a crazy offer for a 2wd truck. Yes low mileage, but 2wd and none a/c, and none cruise control. Typical rear bed fender lip rust. Does it have a tilt wheel and delay w/s wipers? Lariat without a chrome grill insert and chrome headlight bezels, interesting. But is does have locking vent wings and door map pockets. Sweet.

Welcome to FTE, make sure and join your state chapter. I am guessing MI off the license plate. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum85/

Your truck looks very similar to an F350 I saw out of Montana years ago. Your best bet would be to get a Marti report (Google it) to get the production numbers. Supercabs are less common than regular cabs and you have a high trim level truck.

The low miles is the biggest selling point regardless of the trim. A lot of people claim low miles however the odometer rolls over at 100k. 150k and 50k can look about the same so any documentation to verify helps a lot.

I got it from a car collector in flint that passed away he had a huge collection and it had radials from 1983 and there documentation of the last oil change at sears in 1982 at 48,000 so it was sitting for a long time. I got it at a good deal since the widow was selling it.

@@77&79F250 Yeah whoever ordered it from the dealer wanted a simple truck with the comfy seats a sweet headliner. I know you say its not that rare but when i look my model up all i could only find 2 but they were clapped with bad interiors. The other one was john Wayne's. Also it doesn't have the wipers or tilt steering wheel really basic lariat.

If you want to really know about your trucks "rareness", get a Marti Report. And that way you will have some more documentation.

John Wayne’s was a 350 and different colors, not sure how you are trying to measure rareness but that truck wouldn’t come into play.

Nice!!!
Lets see a picture of the headliner.
Its got to be worth more than the truck itself.
