Why is this even a concern? Start your own motor company and offer financing on your vehicles. See how fast you want to crack skulls when people owe you money on a contract they agreed too. You'll think this is a great idea when you're the one owed.
I find it hard to believe that if they can control whatever in the vehicle they can’t find it to send the repo man.
Depends what the local laws are. I know back when I had a rollback I was not allowed to access private property if signs were posted even if the driveway was wide open and I could back right up to the vehicle. If its behind a gate or in a closed garage again cant do a thing even if you can see it. The broke bumbs are the easy ones, they live in ****ty neighborhoods and park in the street. The suburbs are the hard ones and those types will do anything to hide, or block the vehicle on their property so you cant get it.
It's not a concern; to me. Just news for discussion.
I wasnt picking on you if thats how it came across. Just a broad statement because this has been brought up for discussion quite a few times now and some really feel like they are entitled to not pay on time.
I’m far less concerned about lien holders disabling my vehicle than what the government will manage to get courts to authorize with this technology when the authoritarian baboons from either of the two political cults have an agenda to pursue or a score to settle.
Ron Swanson is my spirit animal.
Seriously, as we’ve seen with GPS and phone telemetry, there are nefarious parties who love technology as much as the rest of us.
it's sad to see people falling for the media's tricks. Ron Swanson is just a stereotype caricature made to be ridiculed by the typical P&R viewer and played by an outspoken partisan actor who made his career on the "angry ____ male" trope.
Wow....if Ford owned the truck (the bank note) sure this doesn't sound unreasonable. Now...IF Ford wants to sell this as a service "feature" to a bank that has your note.....How much do you want to bet Repo companies hit the courthouse steps.
Concern is the technology. There’s always some evil SOB behind “the button”. When the day comes, and it will, that they limit travel distance for ICE vehicles and/or ban them outright, this technology will be used to enforce it.
