Since we (my new FTE friends and I) determined last week that my '48 "F-5" is actually an F-3, I wonder if anyone has a set of F-3 badges they'd be willing to swap for my F-5 badges.
I'll attempt to post pix shortly.
Heavens to BET-sih !! I didn't mean to make 'em HUGE
Hi, I have one F-3 badge. How's this sound.....it is yours for free if you add three entries to the 'Truck Humor' thread. Then PM me with your name & mailing address and I'll send it to you. I've been waiting for someone to say they needed one of these. It is in good shape and the pins are intact.
Note the style difference on the textured blank area between the letter and number. For some reason some plants used a different design for the F3, that is how I ended up with this one. Some were textured, some were smooth. If you can't find a second matching one of this style, just remember that NOBODY can see both sides of the truck at the same time.

What you're seeing there is the difference between the cast pot metal version and the stamped stainless emblem. It's my experience that the earlier trucks used the cast style and the stainless version came later.
