Question Running board recommendations?

I recently acquired a 2004 F350 CCLB that will likely be needed a set of steps/running boards. It's about the perfect height for me, and I thought the girlfriend as well, but this past week I picked her up and got a look that said "I'm too short to deal with this, please help me out here". So, now it's time to shop. I'm trying to stay true to the grandpa/farm truck look, so keep that in mind, but any recommendations are welcome.

See, the funny part is she's 5'7, so she actually isn't too short compared to national average (three inches taller, to be exact!). But, when I'm nigh unto 6'4" and it's literally PERFECT for me to get into, I understand her frustration. And if my plans to put a ring on her finger go the way I want, then the steps will be a requirement. Figured it can't hurt to do them now instead of later

Possibly, if I could find a junkyard that sells parts within a days drive. Closest one is on the other end of the state, and they're pretty stingy on what they do and don't give away. Wish I had access to a pick an pull, but such is life.

Consider your height and using the boards. For me @ 6'2' if I use the factory boards I have to duck way down to get in the truck, but for the wife their perfect I guess. Im considering taking mine off and just putting a step on her side to keep here happy.

But then there's the situation of having a lopsided look, and if she ends up driving it then were back to the same problem... thinking of going with a set of single steps and calling it good. Then I have a place to scrape my boots and she doesn't have to worry about jumping to get in.

A consideration is the shape. The flat shelf types hold onto more crud (mud) than the tubular at least that has been my experience.

The factory ones that came on my 2007 XLT have been perfect. The one thing I have always noticed and liked is how they keep the rockers panels clean from any mud or rock chips. To me that is the biggest benefit.

I looked for a better pic but this was the best I could do for now. It is my sig pic.

Do you think you could take a better one? Visual learner here, so reference pictures help a LOT.

I like your single step (hoop) idea on your pickup @Junkers456. It's all personal preference.

I got some new steps/bars last year when my co-worker (~320lbs) snapped my original factory (passenger side) board clean off…all 4 plastic hanger/mounting points. Decided to go with some inexpensive 5-inch nerf style.

Added some before after for your reference:

Not a fan of the tuckaways, and even if I was they're a bit spendy to be putting on a truck that'll be spending the majority of it's life hauling hay burners to and from rodeos.
