My check engine light is on and show a p1537 and p1538 code
which is a Intake manifold runner control
where is it located what does it look like and how can I repair it
How much would it cost to fix
I dont have a picture that I can post here but the IMRC's are located at the back of the lower intake manifold. I dont know if you can see them with the upper intake manifold on or not. I believe they are roundish servos with a vacuum hose and a connector on them with a rod that goes to the actual butterflies in the intake manifold.
I think I would start by checking the vacuum diagram which should be on the underside of the hood to see where the vacuum for the IMRCs comes from and start chasing that.
The codes you are getting mean that both the IMRCs are stuck open when they shouldnt be.
