My 2022 F-350 Lariat SYNC updated about 2 weeks ago and I was able to make Apple Maps go full screen. It worked great. I come home from vacation today after 10 days and now Apple CarPlay/Maps are only half screen with the other side just a black screen/same whether map is big or small. And also every time I shut the truck off now my screen defaults back to the radio screen when I restart and I have to reselect the previous screen from when I last had truck running. Anyone else having problems?
My truck was at the dealer 3 weeks ago and I asked them to update all firmware on the modules applicable and to update Sync. I haven't had any updates and never got the full screen. I'm beginning to think the updates are BS.
Update. Started the truck this morning and screen is back to working correctly with Apple Maps able to be full screen. Still defaults to the audio screen after every new restart. It’s fun being a beta tester 👎
I got the Alexa and Full screen for Google maps update last week. So far everything is working correctly.
I know with my Ram trucks updates to Uconnect were done in batch's by VIN. SYNC may be the same way so it may take some time to get the updates OTA. Not sure if Ford dealers can push SYNC updates to you - Ram dealers claim they cant update the new Uconnect radios that update over the air.
On March 7, my system updated to 3.5.3. Ever since, my Sync 4 changes to the audio screen every time I restart the truck. Very frustrating because I rarely use the audio screen.
Some 2023 F-Super Duty vehicles may experience the inability to use a QR code to set up Amazon Alexa™. When a QR code is scanned, the wake word option may not appear on the center display screen to access Amazon Alexa™. This may be due to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software and replacement or reprogramming of the APIM may not resolve this condition. Inform customers that engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition and will be released via an over the air (OTA) software update expected in Q2 2023. Customers that have experienced this concern should verify automatic updates are enabled and that the vehicle has been run long enough to receive updates via OTA. Monitor OASIS for additional information.
lots of issues with sync right now.. This is the only one I copied and pasted. Kevin
Got my update (3.5.3) yesterday and everything seems to work as it should except as noted earlier in that the last two times I restarted the truck it went to the audio screen. A bit annoying as I would much rather have it go to the last screen that was on the display.
I have a different sort of issue, I upgraded from a 4" screen Sync to a 8" screen, new APIM, ACM,FCIM, and all has been fine, Now I get in the truck start it and at random times the screen stays black, no sound from the radio, I try a soft restart (power and FF buttons together) and it only worked once. However the next time I start the truck everything works fine, it does for no rhyme or reason and can go days with no issue. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?
Thanks

I've also noticed that a restart of the truck will randomly turn the radio On and other times turn it Off.
