I can not get this fuel connector connected. I know it's supposed to just push together. Are there any special tricks or tools? I used the spring clip tool to undo it with no issues. And please, no comments like "Get your mom to do it" or "Find a girl scout working on her automotive badge" or "You have to lick it first" or some other silly nonsense. Seriously though, this is putting me behind schedule.
use carb cleaner and spray in the area where the spring is, then blow out with shop air, repeat several times. then flood it with pb blaster and assemble it.
they normally don't lock as they get filled with dirt and grime around the spring and it isn't able to move enough to lock
Update, I was able to get the lines together. Cleaned everything up and the used a channel lock (very gently) to pinch it the last 1/8" or so. Heard a little pop and that was it. Ran 20 minutes, no leaks.
