I have had my truck 3 months and worked on some major items. Getting gown to the smaller, "pain" things. When dragging things out, over the tail gate, I notices some non OEM screws would hang up. Most of the fasteners were missing, panel would rattle and Bubba had installed some ACE Hardware store screws in the holes. They were wrong and protruded enough to hang on things. Took a month to round up what I needed to resolve the issue. OEM fasteners were an odd ball size, the few used one's on Fleebay were priced on the Gold Standard. I like Torx head fasteners as well as stainless steel material. Removed the old screws and ran a 1/4" x 20 tap in the holes. Just a little clean up was needed. Ran in the stainless Torx fasteners and called it good. I'll keep an eye on them should some Blue Loctite is needed.
