1981 F100 L6 Temp Sensor

I’m working on my 1981 F100 and getting ready to install a new wiring harness and I was taking off my what seem to be aftermarket gauge clusters, and I was wondering how do you remove the temp gauge, there’s a “hose” going from the gauge to the sensor but it’s soldered onto the gauge, how do I remove it without permanently damaging anything?

Are you sure it's not a direct reading gauge ? IMO I'd much rather have that style gauge then an electrical one. It will read the temp all the time without needing any electricity. A direct reading oil pressure gauge is also much better.

Can you get a picture of both ends of it ?

You take the end out of the engine, that has a fitting and a probe on it. You then snake this temp probe through the firewall and out with the gauge. It's made with the gauge, it doesn't come apart. Whoever put it in should have a large enough hole in the firewall to get the probe and fitting through.
