No Dry Start Pre-Oiler

I have a new, 2022 F250 6.2L. I'd like it to last as long as I do on this earth. My son wrecked my Tacoma with 1.3 million miles so I do hold onto things. I'd like to put on a pre oiler for no dry starts. Any Thoughts? Thank you for your time.

Did your toyota have a pre-oiler on it?

Waste of time and money.

Just do the proper maintenance and don't abuse it to make it last.

Never heard of this but subscribing to learn more.

6.2 is dead reliable. But do not know the total lifespan they engineer into it.

Here is video with a guy installing a pre-oiler on a 3.5L. I sure that it would work on your vehicle.

I had a pre-oiler on my prior truck. The 6.4 had known bearing and lifter lube problems so this was my checklist item to try to mitigate.

I kept it on the truck for 10K miles or so.

one day I went to re-locate the system...and during cleaning and testing...I noticed that the seliniod that opens and closes the oil flow valve did not work and more.....duh...all this time I thought I was accomplishing something...I tossed the whole thing .

if I ever go down the pre-oiler path again...it will either be tank with pressure gauge that will let me know its working....or..more likey, I will used a heavy duty gear pump to pump oil from the pan into the same fitting that the tank system uses ( oil temp or oil pressure gauge). the pump would be pre-start on using and uplifter switch.

I just let it idle a little bit before driving if the truck sat for more than 8 hours. Generally get way more than 250K on a gas engine. They're still running good when I sell/trade them.

Cause people think the engine block drains 100% of the oil to the pan???

How long did it take you to rack up 1.3M miles on your Tacoma?
How long do you think you have left in your life to drive?
Most people put on less miles after retirement...did you factor that in?

I like the idea of a pre-oiler. No different than pulling a distributor and spinning the oil pump rod with a drill on a freshly rebuilt engine, or on one that has been sitting for a long time.
If Ford offered one from the factory at a reasonable price, I could see buying/using one. However, I believe that the juice is not worth the squeeze on this topic. Your new truck is more apt to kill a computer module or other electronic part that becomes obsolete than the engine is to fail due to minimal wear on startups.
