I'm not sure how long it's been, if ever, that I've seen an engine or drive shaft painted on a new vehicle I've purchased. I'm used to seeing those rust immediately, and then hold that coat of rust for "protection". Never had a failure or issue with that, and I typically keep vehicles at least 10 years.

With having 519 posts I figured the OP would have known this is typical for not only Ford but most (maybe all) US manufactured vehicles. A thread like this comes up once every 2-3 weeks....

They all do that... Even the foreign ones built here. Wouldn't surprise me if the damn things rolled off the line like that.

First pic shows the engine block, and it will never rust so much as to cause any issues, it is the toughest part of your whole truck.

Can't possibly look brand new because brand new ones aren't painted!

THIS. ☝️

These components are as likely to suffer actual damage or degradation from rust in your lifetime as your aluminum hood.

I looked at a new 2022 dually on a lot a few weeks ago, you could see through the slots in the front wheel, and see the dually adapter to front axle was solid rust. sad.

And, it never will affect its performance.

If they painted everything under the truck with any sort of quality lasting paint, the price of the trucks would be probably 20K higher than they already are.

And the unfortunate thing is the number of vehicles bought by Local, County, State and Federal agencies with our money.
Gone are the days of buying an old Forest Service truck at the auctions and getting a rust free vintage model.
The world changed.

Those were only ever rust free on the outside of the body, todays trucks will still be like that with the aluminum body.

I am old enough to remember new vehicles coming off the transport right after WW11. Yes, they all had rust on some or all suspension and driveline parts. Yes, most vehicles coming off the transports since have had rust in some areas. If you want to go back to the 1970s, the sheetmetal would rust thru in a couple of years with normal exposure.

___________
Do the aluminum bodies have a protective coating on them, other than the paint on the exterior ?
I've seen factory Alcoa wheels destroyed by corrosion.
