Dual tanks
There is a shuttle valve inside the fuel delivery module (FDM) that prevents fuel from draining into the non-activated fuel tank. The shuttle valve is opened by the fuel pressure created by the pump.
Rock auto usually has pumps available for 9th gen Fords. I would check there.
You said you cut up your old FDM, so you'll need to purchase a complete new FDM. If your old FDM is repairable, you may be able to get away with just a new in-tank fuel pump.

Thats what i was thinking on how that worked. Thanks for the picture. So i just looked on rock auto and all the pump s are for the steel tanks and my rear tank is plastic. Do you think the steel tank fdm would work in the plastic one?
What I see in differences between fronts & rear tanks is angle of the sump (reservoir) where the sock sits in the tank. Flat vs angle.
The angle of the send & return lines of the "hanger" are easily different. The harness plugs are bafflingly different but easily changeable
It's very, very doubtful that there is a 100% unique FDM or associated parts that were made for a particular service bed option & plastic tank and no longer available.
Have you got a pic of the module?
