So I have a TS6 chip on my truck right now and I have no info as to what each tune is and I just don’t really like the idea of the TS6 and I’ve been thinking about getting a Hydra, my question is do I have to get my PCM flashed or do I just unplug the TS6 and plug in the Hydra?
Very easy swap. Remove old, install new.
depending on the switch you currently have, the mounting will be different so plan out your mounting location appropriately.
As noted above basically unplug, clean J3 port (that’s what I’d do), typically I use a very small sharp flat screw driver to scrap the clear plastic coating off the board and between contacts. I split the pcm case to do this. Also it’s wise to get the longer programming cable then you don’t have to remove Hydra to update programs or make changes. I use Gorilla tape to tape up the open port where cable and chip sits to keep keerap and secure chip in place. Lastly I’ve used a number of programmers over the years and Jelibuilt tunes work really well in my trucks. Excellent peddle feel, nice lineal input feel, great idle and zippy files too!
cheers,
j
