Any chance you could try another relay? I have modified the brown relay(EEC) to work when it was all I had.
That is I only had a spare brown relay to work with. I didn't have a spare green relay.
Someone's been in this truck before, as I only had 2 black relays. The original green and brown ones must've been yoinked a while ago. I did try swapping out relays - no change. Confirmed it wasn't a relay issue - swapped relays between the PCM and FP and the PCM was still working fine.
We might have it figured out guys. Looks like a PO had installed a fuse link on the FP power wire sometime in the past (see picture). We were ohm-ing out the circuits and noticed that when you would jiggle or twist the fuse holder, we would start to get high resistance or even an open circuit. Touching the circuit side end of the wire directly to the battery lit up the test light on the FP relay plug yellow wire. Brother and dad are off to get some fusible link wire and we are going to reinstall a 20GA fusible link like what should originally have been on the truck.
Well, I guess we can wrap this thread up. The fuse link was the issue. Replaced with a fusible link (as it should be) and the truck is running wonderfully. To finish it out, here's a pic of the happy driver taking his Ford on a good long trip, with no issues!!!!!
That picture is a "Kodak Moment"... Make copies and hide them away for his Grandson to look at while restoring the truck... LOL
I love a story with a happy ending.

Thank you Hobo! It surely is a good feeling to finally be able to drive the darn thing, and to not have to worry about it randomly cutting off!
