I have a 2019 Lariat Screw and I am looking for suggestions on speaker upgrades for the doors and center.
I know there are thousands of choices and everyone will have their own personal preference.
I listen mainly to 80’s and 90’s Alt Rock, country and EDM sometimes. Very wide range of listening choices with the hard exception of rap, remember kids, can't spell crap without rap….
I will be spline deadening the doors on inner/outer skin. Foaming the inside of the door panel and installing fast rings around the speakers.
Just about anything is better than the OEM speakers. Look for similar impedance (4 Ohm) and, if not installing an amplifier, the most efficient (high SPL) model you can find.
Check out Crutchfield's website. You can punch in your truck and the speaker location and it'll point you to many speakers. They also recommend mounting hardware and pigtail adapters to plug into the factory wiring so that you don't have to cut & splice. I just put a set of JL Audio speakers in my front doors. The wiring harness and mounting bracket were included free of charge.
I got online with one of their chat reps. Told him about the head unit and other specifics and they came up with options for me.
Here's another speaker discussion thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ont-doors.html
Mr. Poncho, Three questions, What OE sound system did you have? The new speakers look impressive, how much better do they sound? How did they effect the balance with the rest of your speakers or did you replace those also? Thank you, tjcj

I only replaced the front door speakers for now. Much improved. The head unit is stock that came with the truck. No amp or sub of any kind. Strictly bone stock. Clearer and crisper now. No noticeable gain in top end volume but that sometimes is hard to tell. Strange how one mp3 on the iPhone will play louder than another.
Once I got a look at the factory speakers and saw how low budget they really are I will likely replace the rear door speakers also at some point. As others have mentioned it doesn't take much money to beat the factory speakers.
One important thing to keep in mind when replacing speakers. Are you going to amp them or not... A speaker made to handle higher wattage will sound tinny with stock lower wattage.
My plan is to install a PAC4 interface with a Kicker Key 500.1 on a 10” JL audio sub for starters. I will follow that up with speakers powered by a kicker 200.4 for mids/highs.
I am looking for sound quality with a little volume. I listened to some BLAM speakers the other day and was impressed. Unfortunately, $900 for a set of front door components is way more than I am willing to spend.
I am leaning Focal or Morel with my main concern being how they will sound in a bigger truck.

Exactly why I got on a chat with Crutchfield and explained just what my plan was. Which was to run everything box stock.
I went with Infinity Reference 6.5" in the rears and 6x9" Infinity Components in the front with the tweeters. I installed the rears myself pretty easily but paid a shop to install the front and the tweeters because of the crossover. My plan is to keep the head unit stock, but I have a 400a Skar Audio amp that was gifted to me that I'm going to have the shop install later. They said to keep the stock HU, I'll need an audio controller as well so I'm holding off for now. Speakers sound awesome currently, but I can tell they need more power to really bring the sound out.
