My 1997 f250hd cranks but doesn’t start. I just replaced my hpop which I thought was the issue, but it still won’t start. Now the fuel bowl isn’t filling. Is it my fuel pump? What could it be? I’m 16 and love working on my truck but I don’t have any guidance, so I started coming to this forum to help me. If anyone has any advice or knows what the problem is please let me know. After 1 month since I was able to drive my truck I’m willing to try anything.
Edit: Now my truck won’t even crank. I charged the batteries and still nothing. I have purchased a new fuel pump but don’t want to move forward until I can get it to crank. If anyone has any ideas I will listen to anything. Please help! Truck only has 130,000 miles.
First, how full are the fuel tanks? Did you try switching tanks? The shower head looking fuel strainer in the tanks are known to rot off leaving you "out" of fuel at about 1/8-1/4 tank, is why I asked about the fuel level. The fuel selector valve can get stuck between the two tanks when switching tanks, especially if the shower head has rotted off. Just a couple of places to start with. If the fuel bowl is not filling, the pump in the valley could have given up the ghost.
