I've finally gotten motivated to download FORScan lite and went on Google play store to download and nothing under that name comes up. The only thing I see is Fordsys Scan lite . Is that the same thing, or does it not exist anymore, or am I just looking in the wrong place? Any help would be appreciated.
Slow night I guess, so I went to have a look myself and found references of it being pulled back in Nov. 22. It appears though that you can download straight from their website, here's the link.
Udsuth78 nailed it. FORScan and Google had different ideas for the app, so FORScan pulled the download back to their site. If someone previously downloaded FORScan Lite from Google Play, they still have access to it via a back door. Although, it will be an outdated version.
yes,
Google keeps wanting to "update" the apps on my phone....
I refuse, if it works now, it will work forever.
I lost the use of my previous Samsung Galaxy 8, because it received a "System Update" which Reset all of my Preferences to all Automatic Updates, and the newer app versions would not work my the Note 8 hardware.
today, my daughter and I both use Galaxy S10s, her's is a 10e, mine is a 10+ with a larger screen.
I never buy new, my limit is $300 for "gently used" phones from Swappa.com
ForscanLite should still be available on F-Droid and sideloaded instead of using PlayStore
Nope, just checked, it is not on F-Droid.
I would recommend the potential user go directly to FORScan via the link pr8vided by udsuth78 above instead of a third party. It is possible for the .apk download to be manipulated by an untrusted source. It is not likely, but it does happen.

I know that game, I had a Note4 that worked like a charm, right up until they updated the OS to a newer version that it could not handle. then I found a Note8 which survived for a few years, then it became Delegated Junk....
so I bought us a pair of S10 phones, the small s10e for the daughter, the s10+ for my hands and old eyes.
the horror stores of the S20 series is something I don't want to get into.
Thanks for the help. I was able to download FORScan lite from the link and now have a lot of work to do to figure out how to use it. I'm currently wading through the tutorial stuff in the tech folder. Sure do love that tech folder...
