Help with the question on my first post. If nobody knows the answer, then tell me. That is what these fourms are for(info). I have an Expedition that has problems. That is why I have asked the questions on this forum.

starting with an attitude sure wont help!

To answer your question in the 1st post

NO

You say they are new?
Did you inspect them before you bought them?

An easy answer to your problem may be to visit a dealers lot and see if similiar vehicles on the lot have the same issues.

In any case...... since these are NEW vehicles, I would take it up with the dealer.

Philrush I should Not have to inspect my new car with a fine tooth comb. You expect that things sould be right from the start when you pay big money for these rigs. These fourms are for Info not to be asked by the moderator what I am asking when it is plain as day what I was asking from the get go! Then in another post I am told to do a search well NO ****. If I would have gotten my answer from that I would NOT have asked the damn question in the first place.!!!! And then to be told I have a have an attitude by some person that can't read my first post and then give me an attitude . You people need to get out more. No wonder forums like this get a bad rap. It only takes a couple of JERKS to ruin it for everybody!!!!!

With all due respect, if I need more information to help you, then I'm going to ask you for it, which is what I did.

You have to keep in mind that most people scan the thread titles - "Fitment Issues" could mean just about anything.

Something like "03 fit & finish issues" would probably yield more results.

As far as getting out more, yeah, I probably should, but that discussion belongs in General Conversation as it has nothing to do with Expeditions/Navigators

If your vehicles are within warranty, take it back to the dealer and demand that the problems be resolved.

Otherwise I'd talk to a qualified body shop about getting everything lined up.

Exactly what kind of fitment issues. I've got an '03 EB EXP 4x4 and I haven't had any issues. Of course, vehicle is still new and haven't explored everything.

If you're complaining about large gaps between trim pieces, it's my experience that American cars have wider range tolerances on things like that. Japanese and European specs are much tighter, so you'll see better fit and finish on those vehicles.

If something is off center, then take it to the dealership and bring it up as a warranty issue. However, it depends on what Ford considers "acceptable" and again, their tolerance levels are usually wider. So, something may be off center, but still within acceptable parameters according to Ford.

Does that suck? Yes it does.

Again, like Philrush said, people should inspect the vehicle thoroughly before a final purchase and if anything is out of place, it is a bargaining chip in your favor to have it fixed to your liking before final purchase. If it's caught AFTER the purchase, than hopefully it can fall under a warranty issue.

If things are overlooked and your purchase, the dealership assumes you have no issues and it becomes an uphill battle from there unless you can argue your point from a warranty issue stand point.

Should you go through every vehicle purchase with a fine tooth comb? That's really dependent on the buyer. Some people demand quality and will inspect everything thoroughly to get it. Some aren't as picky and will let things slide.

BUT it's not the dealerships job to make sure everything is perfect. They simply receive the vehicle from the manufactuer, put it through it's PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection, which is nothing more than a checklist) and that's it. The dealership doesn't go through their vehicles with a fine tooth comb.

Whether it's a Ford dealership, Mercedes Dealership or Porsche Dealership, it's basically buyer beware.

I don't think I'm the only one that disagree's that what you are asking is "perfectly clear" - fitment issues ?? You could apply that to any single part in the whole vehicle - be more descriptive with less attitude if you want a response, people on here will help you.

No "fitment" issues on my 03.

imho, spending huge dollars on a new vehicle and not going over it with a fine tooth comb BEFORE you pick it up is nuts.

let the buyer beware!

I guess when you spend 30 to 40 thousand on a Ford car or truck you look it over as close as possible.(NOT) I think it is nuts to have to nit pick a new car or truck. That goes to show the qulity of Fords work(poor). My actions only reflect the actions of others on the forum. Help is all I wanted, not attitude. You want me to be more discriptive, then same goes for you. All I wanted to know is if anybody had fitment issues. It did not matter to me what they were.(interior or exterior). I was just trying to get a feel for the quilty of the 03 Expedition, to see if this is just isolated ocerance.
