Stuck running boards

Hello everyone, new to the group. I have a 2017 F350 super duty platinum and I have an issue with my runningboards. Every since I bought the truck they haven’t worked. They are in the out position, and yes I know about the out, auto and off adjustments lol. They sound like they are trying to activate but they don’t move. I have soaked all moving parts with penetrant several times to no avail. Any ideas y’all have tried would be great.

Start by removing the electric motors and make sure they are free to turn under power, next with the motors out cycle the boards by hand to see if/where they might be binding.

I would liberaly spray some type of lube on all the pivot points to see if you can get them to free up.
