Windshield leaking??
I paid our local glass shop to remove my trim pieces, and my E250 only had light surface rust in a few places and mostly at the bottom of the pillars where water can sit because of build up of debris which sits underneath the trim, unless pressure washed out often.
I masked off and carefully sandblasted the portion of the pillars that is covered by the trim. Then liberally brushed on black Rustoleum as a base.
One month later I fired up my small dash paint gun and painted the pillars. Now I'm waiting for winter to pass so I can paint the roof, and have my windshield moulding trim re-installed.
Please let us know the outcome of the re-sealing and if you still have a leak.
