Help I'm getting water in my van from the top of the windsheild. Theres no visible rust and I don't want to pay someone to take it out and re seal it. Has anyone had this problem and have any advice?
I had exactly the same problem with the leak right at the top of the winshield.
Sorry, but after I put what seemed like gallons of sealer into that spot the only fix was to have the windshield re-set and re-sealed. That fixed it right up, no more leaks. Of course, a week after I had it done a rock took out the windshield but the glass company that did the first fix gave me a brake on th price pf a new glass.
The orgional resetting and resealing was only about 40 bucks, so it wasn't too bad.
I seem to have just fixed the problem, took off the molding and ran a thick bead of rtv arround the windsheild, it stormed hard last night and this morning it was dry this morning.
I take back my previous post, it just stormed again all the silicone did was slow down the leak, I'm going to bite the bullet and have it professionally resealed. Berry where did you have yours resealed at was it a national company? Everywhere I called quoted me 150.
