I saw today the VIN look up feature here on this forum, very sweet, looked up my truck.
It said my trim level was XL, but on my truck trim itself says XLT.
Doing some looking around I noticed my truck has the chrome package on the front grill, wheel wells, bumpers, and fog lamps, which does appear to come on the XL level?
Just wondering, not that it makes any difference to me.

The 2011 Ford F-250 Super Duty is available as a regular cab, SuperCab (extended cab) or crew cab body style. The range-topping King Ranch piles on power-folding mirrors, two-tone paint, a body-colored grille with chrome insert, unique exterior and interior badging, remote start, upgraded Chapparal leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, driver seat memory and a rearview camera.

Some features on the Lariat and King Ranch trims are available on the XL and XLT models. Helps a lot..... my truck is a freak. It has the chrome, the sync, the FX4, heated mirrors, cruise control, and some other stuff not listed on XL. When I purchased it I was told the truck was owned by a person who worked with Ford in some capacity, not sure if they get some perks by ordering their own ride at paying for a lessor trim level to balance the books?

Don’t go overboard. VIN lookups many times use the base model trim to fill in the blanks.

I’d be intrigued if my ‘03 F150 with a SOHC 4.2L v6 (according to Carfax) had the ~8,000# towing cap some of these sites list it as having…

 

The trim level is NOT encoded as part of the VIN making the "decoders" useless for this information.

 

Yep. You got an XLT. Be happy with it. Of my four Super Duties, three have been XLT's, including my current truck. The only thing I really miss from my Lariat is the dual automatic climate control. Leather seats were okay, but my wife hates them, and I'm okay without them. Anyway, enjoy your XLT.

 

They already discredited themselves by listing a pushrod engine as an overhead camshaft.
