I noticed this forum has a VIN look up, so I did on my 2011 F-250 Super Duty 6.2.
Pretty cool info, but I don't understand this part:
Specifically, the dead hitch weight tongue ratings.
Does it mean I can only put 500 pounds on the ball without any distribution hitch?
But with a weight distribution hitch the tongue weight jumps up to over 1800 pounds? VIN Lookups are almost NEVER accurate for tow ratings of this type. Go by the Ford Fleet Tow guide, or the sticker on your hitch, and always check against the payload sticker inside the drivers door.
