If you are dead set on cleaning the engine bay, have the water on as low pressure as you can and not directed directly at electrical components or connections. Or anything that could cause water intrusion.

I put the valve with vacuum on my heater hose and it only closes when the A/C is on max. This helps give you a few more degrees of cold air which is welcome in SE Texas.

There is no valve in the heater system to control the coolant flow. Coolant flows through the heater core anytime the engine is running.

Just for trivia knowledge, if you plumbed the vacuum line into the recirc door, the valve is closed during "a/c max" AND "off".

I just sprayed under the t stat housing and around the front. I didn’t spray any wires or anything I wasn’t gonna hose down the entire thing.

Nope, mine is closed on all settings including OFF except for the max setting. I get about 3-4 more degrees of cooling with Max. I like it.

Ahh. Ok. Must be a bricknose vs aeronose thing. My HVAC vacuum diagram shows the recirc door servo is activated in off and max ac position.

It leaks, I’m not gonna attach the video I took since they don’t seem to work when I attach them. But here’s a photo of the leak. It hasn’t even ran for 5 min. It was perfectly fine no leaks, until I drove the truck is this just from higher RPMs blowing a seal? Weep hole is dry.

I located the leak on the bottom of the water pump is this a 2nd weep hole? If not what is it and does it require a pump replacement?

The lower 5/8" hose fitting goes to the heater core.

Yes. That is a weep hole. In indicate the internal seal has failed and coolant is leaking past it. The pump needs to be replaced. Get the motorcraft brand.

Yea I’m sticking to motocraft. I found one on rock auto for $60. I was just confused why it had 2. On my 302, I know the fan has to come off. Does the mounting bracket for the power steering system and the ac have to come off?
