Ford Lightning & Mach E's Failing to Sell?
Ford Lightning & Mach E's Failing to Sell?
Per Ben Hardy visiting a Ford dealership, looks like Ford may have a another issue on their hands. Obviously this is a sample of 1 so this doesn't make this a trend but could be an indicator of a problem for Ford betting the farm on their EV products.
There are some lightnings around my area supposedly for sale, but here is the rub, the cheapest is 73k for a Lariat. No markup listed, but either the dealers are playing some other game to pad the margins when the buyers are at the dealerships, or the dealers are still waiting for that mythical white collar tech savvy high income buyer who were already F150 buyers itching to get an EV version, or are first time truck buyer willing to buy a pickup over a well optioned Model Y or something. I see more Mach Es being driven around though so that market is somewhat responding at least.
I've seen a few Lightnings around this area but can't remember the last time I've seen a Mach E and I used to see them. Having said that this area is covered with Tesla's like crazy. The local Bucee's store just recently installed ~24 Tesla chargers.
