door ajar, interior light

anybody have any trouble with intermittant interior light / door ajar indicator. unplugged fuse for summer and that was ok with near 24 hr dyalight but now it's getting dark again

and i should probably fix it. looks like it may be switch inside fender near the door but haven't looked too far.

this ring any bells for anyone?

Extremely common problem with Fords!!! The switches are built into the door latch mechanism in the door. Spray the latch
mechaism good with WD-40, and open/close the door a few times.
This should free up the switches....Good luck!!

when i first started having the trouble i sprayed them down with some lube but i think it gets sticky when it's cold, maybe made the problem worse. i'll try the wd and see what happens.

Dont just use any lube...us WD40...it cleans out the latches and switches as well as lubing them.

WD40 works like a charm, i the same problem for about a year, and i was getting ready to buy new door latches which would have been a pain. then i saw what racerguy said and it worked wonders.
