Still on the fence whether to get the ARB single or twin. But I'm trying to locate the best place for it. I notice a lot of installs for jeeps under the hood but definitely no room on top in my truck. And I don't see a decent place underneath but if someone knows one.
I know some have them above or near the spare tire but I'd like it as far forward as possible to reduce the current draw.
I did notice a cavity in front of the gas tank. Does anyone know of any cons to putting it there? I don't think there's any exhaust, moving or sensitive things there. I think it's just below the driver's seat back so I would hear it when it's running and might even feel it. Both would perhaps be a good thing.
I mounted the single ARB compressor and a 2.5 gallon ViAir tank above the spare. I didn’t want to use the room in front of the fuel tank since I plan to swap to the larger S&B tank.
Does this in any way impact how the spare mounts? Is there room for an ARB twin compressor?
I’ve had my truck for three weeks and haven’t really crawled under it yet.
I replicated Squirrels install to a T! He was very helpful when I hit him up with questions too. The single did not interfere with the spare mount at all. I can’t say for sure if a dual will fit but I think it would.

few reasons I chose the single ARB. Price, amp draw and size. If I had to fill 37” tires from 8 psi sure get a twin.
I am going to install a compressor soon for the air bags. I am thinking of installing it behind the rear seat. All the salt, snow, sand I go through, I would rather have it protected somewhere out of the weather.
If I wouldn't have installed mine above the spare, it would have went in the bed of the truck. It is covered with a tonneau, so it would be protected from the elements there. I know some folks install them inside the cab, but I really didn't want to listen to it running inside the cab.
I have heard they are not all that load. I will run it on the bench before I install it. having the short bed I am short on real estate back there. Its not out of the question. But once it comes in and I have a listen to it. I will decide where its going. If it doesnt go in the cab, I may put it in the bed. Having it under the bed cover gives me a little peace of mind.
I'd run it inside the cab rather than on the bench if you want to get an actual feel of how loud it would be. And it's not terribly loud, but it's annoying listening to it run.
