<<Until now, there were basically three distinct products on the market. You have the high-end J.W. Speaker 8900 at the top of the totem poll. Then there are the cheap J.W. Speaker knock-offs, re-branded by companies A,B, and C--and last but not least you have the options like the Truck-Lite reflector-based 5x7" lights...again, re-branded by company X,Y, and Z. The Morimoto Sealed5 LED headlights are unlike anything else on the market.>>
I'm a fan of Morimoto. A couple here have the Truck-Lite.
You can also shoehorn sealed beam LEDs into Aero housings.
are the backs of the LED lights epoxy to the mirrored front of the headlight housing. If it is…how do you aim them correctly? Or is it a horseshoes and hand grenades it’s close enough deal.

Horseshoes and hand grenades? With The Noob? Surely you jest.

I created a rig to define a datum for the sealed beam units on the aero housing before trimming the housings to get the sealed beam units in. Then fine adjustment was achieved by using the original screw adjusters on the aero housings.

I will be looking into upgrading my severely faded stock lights.. that the PO put LED's or maybe HID's into. the biggest issue i have is maintaining the cut line for driving on the other side of the road. it appears that with stock lights and a serious bit of shimming the stock lamps work over here. The PO then put in something else.. still have not torn it apart to find out... but i really despise the practice of blinding oncoming people so if you have time, may I send you a PM to follow up with you on your possible solutions?
as above I have not torn it apart yet, but looking at the wiring so far has not left me overly confident.

Cut-off at maybe 50 feet.
I know this isn't a sealed beam unit...but I do like the cut-off of the Morimoto BI-LED retrofit.

Sure thing! Just holler at me when you’re ready.
As for the cutoff, I was careful to choose a sealed beam unit that maintains the well-defined cutoff so I don’t blind oncoming traffic. In your case, you will have to look for sealed beam units suitable for vehicles that drive on the left hand side of the road locally. Is your truck still LHD?
yeah it as it left the factory. so its using the US styled non sealed headlights with either LED or HID bulbs... pretty sure its HID due to the blue ness of the bulbs... stupidly blue but still dim, they just seem to glare really bad but really do not light the road.
so cutoff needs to be intact so i can aim them and pass inspection.
BTW get the numbers this wednesday.. ended up choosing the Fuji Yama numbers with 350 on the plate number. Damn it seems like forever and getting tired of driving the half ton. Dang the two of them take up some space at the house.
