You most likely have an internal engine issue, could be as simple a a valve spring but white smoke typically indicates a lack of compression in one or more cylinders.

lol, that was my first thought too, but considering he's talking about boost being at 40 , I figured its gotta be one of the four diesels that was available between 99-16. And since the 7.3 and 6.0 generally won't hit 40 psi and the engine is broken, I'm betting its an 08-10 with a 6.4 as those factory compound turbos will hit 40 psi in factory trim all day long and they break on the regular.
No idea...but it's putting strain on the troubleshooting if you don't know the platform. He might have a 7.3 with the EBPV stuck closed...don't know if it will make 40psi though....and if it's 6.4.....oh brother.
