I added these to the existing holes in the sides of the hitch. No drilling/rust that way, and with stainless hardware should last a long time. Stupid bright, and wired direct to upfitter #1!

For everyone that has mounted lights to the receiver hitch.... This would be my preference for mounting (in the future), but is water, snow, dirt, etc flung up from the rear tires a problem? Or are factory mud flaps, or similar aftermarket alternative, sufficient to keep stuff from hitting the lights?

Haven't had any issues with them there all winter. They are set inboard enough I don't think they get any direct buildup from the tires, and even if they did, it would be on the back on the cooling fins/body. I see no way to damage the lenses except backing into something, but you'd have to smash in your exhaust and quite a bit of hitch before you got to them.
It's nice they are fan cooled but isn't the lens assembly sealed?
Great question. I think I will email them and ask about that. Truth is I don't think I use my backup lights for more than 2 minutes at a time Max so I'm not sure if it matters?
It would be really nice to be able to have nothing mounted and switched separately but just incorporated in the existing backup light housing.

Thanks Tom. From looking at lights for a future purchase, I've seen so many comments about so called waterproof light housings, that didn't prove to be waterproof. I didn't even think about the light surfaces potentially being scratched, but your points are valid in that regard. I was thinking more about electrical shorts, water filling the housing, flying rocks banging them out of alignment, etc. Just overall longevity with that placement. Glad to hear that your lights have been good all winter. Thanks.

I've put on roughly 6,000 miles since I installed them this past fall I'll take some current pics of them and post up. I use them daily as I back up my driveway at night. Very happy with them thus far.
Not everyone will want to cut their bumper, but I bought Rigid flush mounts and had them paint matched for the cleanest look out there IMO. Got them wired to my SwitchPro controller so I can turn them on at anytime and they are also tapped to my reverse lights so they will come on like that also. Now when jerk behind me won't turn their damn high beams off, i him them with the Rigid's
Man that's a good looking Platinum! Did you have the area around the platinum wrapped or painted? I would love to do that to mine!

Those lights look nice, but I'm having a hard time with the $400 price tag. I think the Rigid's are high quality, but that high? I found a couple sets on Amazon for a lot less. Comments on these or anyone tried them? I'll probably go with the Rigid over the chinese junk since I plan to keep the truck for a long time.
