4spd 460
I have a 1974 f250 4x4 with a four speed. (granny low)
the engine is shot and i have a 460 sitting around.
i want to put the 460 in and keep the 4spd.
is there a bellhousing for this application or is it like the c-6 with an integral bell housing tranny case.

Well, from the infomation that I have heard or read. If you orginally had a 351M/400M the motor will bolt to the transmisson. Since the 429/460 have the same bell housing pattern at the 351M/400M. But if you have a different engine than those. You will have to change the bell housing. There are other modifications that must be done to fit a 460 other than the bellhousing pattern.
Yup, you may need to change the bell housing, depending on the current engine in place. The motor mounts and exhaust will also need to be modified. I went to Hooker for both mount brackets and headers and am very happy with these. Then took her to a reputable exhaust shop to mount dual exhaust to drop just before the rear axle. Get a heavy duty clutch to install though. The one I used slips and I am unable to step into it as much as I would like. An earlier posting recommended a Centerforce clutch. Good Luck
