4spd 460
the engine is shot and i have a 460 sitting around.
i want to put the 460 in and keep the 4spd.
is there a bellhousing for this application or is it like the c-6 with an integral bell housing tranny case.

The first two are the better ways, but it can be difficult finding the bells. The third way is kinda a pain in the butt. I did this one years ago on mine and I am still using the same set up. The pain is that, like mine, I had to use three engine/bell spacers and also have the pilot bushing milled thinner so the input shaft would clear. Thes one also uses the smaller diameter clutch which sometimes chatters under heavy loads. Everything works great once all that is done.
Make sure you know what year the 460 is. 78 and below (2Y crank) are internally balanced and newer then 78 (3Y crank) are externally balanced. This is very important when doing these combos. The flywheel has to match unless you take the whole mess into a balance shop to be matched up.
You might also post this question in the same year of truck forum as yours. There are people there that own the same year truck as you that have done this conversion. They would know the ins and outs for your application.
