Got the wheels put on last week. Goon at the tire shop scuffed both rear center caps. My guess is he laid them face down and used them for a lug nut bowl Think I’ll keep the painted silver wheels for winter use.
Anyway, really like the wheels. Think my dog likes them too, he didn’t **** on them
Goons!
I always remove my center caps before going to the tire place. And then retorque the lug nuts because they never get them all correct!
Finally ran across a set (semi) locally an hour ago. Planning to go meet the guy tomorrow evening.
I finally did too. About a 2 1/2 hour ride from home but worth it.
With the factory Goodyear Wrangler kevlars on them. Less than 5 miles, brand new take offs. So new that the dealer never even put the center caps on, they're still sealed in the original packaging. They did remove the TPMS to install in their new truck buyer's aftermarket wheels, so mine are at a friend's shop getting new TPMS installed.
They'll be replacing the factory wheels on my 2022 XLT Premium. So my XLT wheels and Mickey Thompson Baja Boss are now on the local FB Marketplace. I didn't care for their snow performance and think these Goodyears might have a little less rolling resistance and be quieter for my upcoming vacation, where I'll be hauling an enclosed trailer. motorcycles. tools, gear, etc. 1300 miles each way.
To answer the OP, I think they do have some sort of clear coat. I was told that they also come with a protective coating of some sort for transport. The guy I bought them from sells all kind of new take offs and he says it takes a little work to get that coating off the wheels.
New pictured first, then the currents if anyone would like to compare Lariat to XLT wheels.
OP I have those rims on my truck and so far I still like the look of them after a year. I would love to find another set so I could have a set w/ winter tires and one for summer.

How much did you have to give for your set, if you don’t mind me asking?
You've got me taking a look at those wheels now. Thanks a lot. I didn't like the look of the stock XLT wheels on my '18, so after a short stint with Method wheels, I found a set of 20" Lariat wheels as new take-offs with Michelins on them. I do love the look of the wheels, but for me, I like more tire than wheel. I think those 18" wheels above would look great!

I wanna see the aluminum with the tires that are on the chrome wheels!
Try O.E. alloys in Florida. I picked up a set of new take off Tremor wheels snd tires from them. They have many options in stock, good prices, great service!

No problem, you’re welcome
Same here, I think a lot of the 20” wheels look better, but I prefer the 18” tire.
Yea I agree No way I’d want those noisy cleated lugs on my truck
I have a set of 33” Highway tread on 20” aftermarket wheels & they ride WAY ROUGHER than the stock 33” on 18” rims.
Both are load range E 10ply.
the short sidewalls let you feel every imperfection in the road.
The noise isn't a big issue. But in all honesty that might be because they're much quieter than the Cooper Evolution M/T they replaced. Width may also be an issue for snow. They ride up on top of the snow, spin and then there you are until engaging 4x4.
