My family fleet has 3 Fords, a 2000 Excursion, a 2014 F10, and a 2016 Expedition. All 3 have Michelin XLT tires with less than 30,000 miles on them. The truck has barely 100.
The tires ride fine at temp, but give a miserable ride when cold. Driving in a cold, wet rain last week you would have sworn the tires were severely out of balance. Once the rain cleared and tires warmed up they were smooth and a wonderful ride.
Has anyone else experienced this with the Michelin's? We don't have a lot of cold weather here so it's not often noticed, but it make for a miserable ride when we do.
i do not use michelins because of the lousy ride in winter, and the fact they show sidewall cracking and dryr ot within two years.
three grand marquis, three crown vics, and two trucks with michelins .
after the first batch of GM and CV's, the very first thing done after purchase was get rid of the michelins and replace with coopers.
i have never had a cooper sidewall split or dry rot, and average 75,000 miles on the cars and 60,000 miles on the trucks.
