Remember that the E-series had the same gauge cluster as the Dentside F-series, all the way up until 91. Makes it easy to get parts from a junkyard to save some money.

Another tip, you can use foil tape on the unseen surfaces inside your gauge cluster to help reflect the light and make them appear brighter.

Painting gauges

My gauge needles were faded to the point they were almost white. I used testors model paint and a fine brush. The needles look much better now.

I simply inserted a sheet of paper between the needle and gauge while painting in case I slipped or dropped a bit of paint.

I ordered a new board too. I really think my old one was fine. I did continuity testing on it and found no issues. If you end up needing one you can have mine. It’s a 78f150 xlt with optional gauges. Just yell at me if you need it
