In the process of building my next truck and I originally skipped over the power running boards but for some reason they've now caught my attention. I live in the north east with snow and freezing conditions. Anyone else living up this way that have these installed that can share some insights?
Any problems during the winter months with these deploying or retracting?

I live in the Pacific Northwest in snowy and freezing conditions and I have had zero issues with the power running boards. id go ahead and get them, you wont be disappointed and wont regret it.
I have them on my truck but have not experienced a winter yet. A guy at work also has then and has not had any issues with his plus you can set them to be out when parked so people doors don't ding yours since they stick out a few inches as added bonus.

I just got my 19 350 yesterday, one of the best parts is the power running boards.
They are big and wide and I don't see where you have any trouble in the winter.

I've installed AMP Research powered running boards on my last two F350s (before Ford started installing them) and I love them. They are up and out of the way while in the mountains and extend lower and farther out than the stock boards. I moved to these after damaging a stock chrome board on a big rock and have been using them in Colorado for several years. I personally installed them both times and the last set included a simple plug-in option so I didn't have to remove the kick panel and connect to the wiring harness. I was really pleased to see them being included as factory installed on the new trucks.
There are no issues in Winter and since they tuck up under the side when retracted, you don't have to clean snow and ice off of them after a storm.
Let me throw another thought to consider in that the fixed running boards also serve to deflect stuff thrown up from the front tires. Mud flaps stop a lot, but the fixed boards pick up where the flaps leave off. Wife had power boards on a previous Ford and I can't say we were impressed, especially when the noises started about 3 years in. Had a gritty grinding noise thereafter. FWIW, she's much more particular than me when it comes to keeping vehicles clean.
I live in CA, we have no seasons so can’t speak to the weather related issues, but I love them. They extend lower than the fixed boards which helps older and little people...
