I'll start with the most important first. One of the very few open spaces in the engine bay, at least on top, is this place back near the left hinge. It has a fairly stout powder coated bracket next to the sidewall with bolt holes and some notch in it the kooks like it have been intended to mount a plastic tank like washer fluid or something. Anyone know what goes there? Maybe something for the 7.3?
I found the hood interlock switch on the right hood hinge if anyone is interested. Looks like a PITA to get to to use though.
Don't know about the other stuff but the blue cap looks like just a thread protector/shipping plug type thing, like for A/C lines. Just didn't make it all the way to the garbage can.
I installed the NOCO10 mounting bracket on that unused mount. The holes were spaced perfectly! I don't know what it may be used for though. It's not the batteries though.

More info on what it isn't. I have the 7.3 Godzilla with dual batteries and alternators. And I have the same empty spot as Squanto. My upfitter box is in the new location over by the passenger side battery. Those little tabs sticking up down in there look like a great place to tie down some extra wiring.

I don't think that area is big enough for a battery unless some other things were moved. Perhaps it has to do with the 6.2 or a prior year.
I'm probably going to use it a second set of OEM horns until I can the onboard air and horn mounted underneath.

I did briefly think about installing my ARB compressor there but was already pretty sold on the idea of mounting it above the spare tire. A compressor may actually work there though...
