Ok, everything is hooked up from what I can see but apparently not since it will not start. Got batteries and they are full charged. I checked the power distribution box and all the fuses were missing. So I installed new ones, even ones that have a light but they are not lighting up. I don't think the box is getting power? Dash will not light up or even display miles. No start, no noises. Had to install a new key cylinder. Thoughts on where to check next?
Based on that picture, they are different. Is that a fuse panel for the diesel f250 96? I couldn't find a good resource for it. Does someone have a good diagram? Some of the missing ones are for the trailer stuff which I skipped for now. I will double check the dash one again but none were missing. Which one would affect starting and dash not functioning?
Got the diode from junkyard but still no power to the power distribution box. I see the battery wire go to the starter but does a battery wire connect to something else? I am missing something. I can't find a diagram that shows exactly what connects where for power. Any help would be appreciated, I know I am close.
ok, figured I update the thread and jump to another for the hopefully last issue before starting it.
So I had installed the fuses, all the remaining parts that were missing but the truck wouldn't start. I found out what the final part I was missing. The cable that goes from the battery to the starter solenoid. I figured that out when I bought new positive battery cables and they had something I was missing, that extra cable. I hooked it up the starter solenoid but I installed it on the wrong post and when I connected the battery, i guess it was bypassing the starter solenoid and the truck tried to start. I put the cable to the correct post and now the dash powers up and tries to start but I have another issue now.
I had to buy a new key cylinder, with keys. The one for the security system that ford has. The truck will not start because the theft light is on. Trying to find a solution to reset this to accept the new key. I do not have the key fob, lost.
With all you have done, you should be able to get the key programming figured out
You could do it yourself maybe using FORScan, if you were to jump through the hoops
Might be more cost effective just to get a locksmith over to the truck
I would get a couple of Ford fobs and program them at the same time
You should be able to do that yourself (easier) just by turning the key on and off after you get that part fixed
