Im running a dually f350 with a 460. Got a smog delete and running a high output alternator in the main spot. Im looking to see if anyone else has run dual or more alternators and what they've done. Already running two batteries with more on the way for electrical. I can get a 2014-22 tahoe alternator to almost perfect line up where the smog pump was but would have to be shimmed to line up with the main serpentine belt. I've heard the earlier ambulance packages could have dual alternators but those are hard to find these days unfortunately. Hoping someone knows of a better fitting alternator where the smog is or a different bracket.
Could cut the smog part of the bracket and run a older 460 lower mount bracket but not sure if that would line up as well. I see it more commonly with chevy and newer fords to have brackets for dual or quads but not as common on our 460's
any constructive input is appreciated
I run winches mounted on my trailers. Linking the truck battery with a battery mounted near the winch gives me all the amps I need for some long pulls of fire wood.
Glad someone else wonderes the same thing and i power audio and lights and 320 amps is well very short from what i will need. The dual ambulance set up would be nice but 460s in trucks are rare in the junkyards near me
