Just ran across this a few min ago, it was uploaded 7hr ago. Know I’ve seen another video like this in the past but couldn’t find it, was trying not to make another thread. Anyways, just sharing (and hoping mine never does this)
My dealer has had several 7.3L lifter issues and they too have had to replace engines. Ironically, they have only replaced 7.3L's in RV's, Cab/Chassis and Econoline's according to the service manager. He said they haven't replaced any in regular trucks. Interesting.
I wonder who the supplier is for the 7.3L lifters?
Saw that 'Ford Boss Me' video today as well... Lifter spalling.
Definitely not good news...BUT we need more data before coming to any 7.3L honest reliability concerns.
How many 7.3L are out there (2020-2023+)? How many failures? Maintenance intervals, usage history, idle time, etc.
Very interesting that most lifter issues seem to be out of RV, Econoline Van's, Box trucks, etc. Tune difference?
